The result is always in Brazilian Portuguese, as used in contracts and checks, following grammar rules: "e" joins hundreds, tens and units; between thousand and million groups it only appears before the last one when it is under one hundred or a round hundred ("mil e cem", but "mil duzentos e trinta"); "de reais" after round millions; "centavos de real" when there are no reais. Cardinal is the quantity (vinte e três), ordinal is the position (vigésimo terceiro). Roman numerals go from 1 to 3,999 in both directions (type 2026 or MMXXVI); non-standard forms such as IIII (clock style) or IC are read and the standard form is shown.
